The Early Years: New Name Taken 12 Years Ago
Paul Richardson
It was this week a dozen years ago (June 1, 1996) that we took our current name: Center for Creative Ministry. Our previous name was so long that people were abbreviating it to BBMRC. If you knew what that stood for, you were an ‘insider’ but if you had no idea it was off-putting. Knowing that new generations of members and leaders want creative ministry to happen at their church, we thought we would position ourselves as encouragers of creativity.

Some have wanted to abbreviate this new name, but our preference is (if it needs to be shortened at all) is to use Creative Ministry or The Center.

If you want to know more about this ministry and have not already done so, go to our frequently asked questions, answered.
