The Early Years: Adding A Lincoln Office
.
At the General Conference Session in the summer of 1990, I met Brad Forbes the director of the Pathfinder Distribution Center in Lincoln, Neb. He was in the process of assimilating the inventory coming from departments at the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. You see, these departments were downsizing around that time; not in personnel but in what they could store in their new headquarters in Silver Spring, Md.

Around that same time I was asked by the Division to provide consultant services to Brad and his team to develop their capability as resource developers and increase awareness/loyalty to their brand. Six to eight times a year I would travel from my home office in Portland, Ore. to Lincoln to work for a week or 10 days with their team. Soon it became clear that moving to Lincoln would expedite our work with what had become the NAD Distribution Center. And it also significantly increased the distribution effectiveness of our growing list of resources we were developing.

Today we now know the distribution center as AdventSource which ships leadership materials (including ours) not only across Bermuda, Canada, and the United States but around the world. What started as a three year time commitment to live in Lincoln turned into a decade of wonderful memories from 1993 to 2003.
