National Conference on Innovation
.
The National Conference on Innovation took place October 2-4 in Columbus, Ohio. Sponsored by the Ohio Conference and the Kettering Medical Center Foundation, the presentations focused on visioning the future of the Adventist Church and encouragement of innovative approaches to challenges. For instance, steps to innovative solutions include stepping outside consensus thinking, being willing to take risks, re-framing the challenge so that it is viewed from a different perspective, and building a pool of ideas that will attract new partners for implementation. In response to the idea of making the future so exciting that people don’t want to miss it, Ryan Bell, pastor of the HollywoodAdventistChurch, shared that he finds many people are thinking about spiritual issues, but that they are not blank slates ready for imprinting of spiritual truths. He believes that dialog is the key to encouraging them to a closer walk with Jesus. For more information: http://www.sdapartnersininnovation.com/
