Re-vangelism = Relational Evangelism
A pastor friend of mine was hosting an evangelistic crusade at the urging of his conference officers. The professional presenter was invited and the meetings progressed multiple nights per week for weeks. It became evident that a dozen people were faithfully attending beyond the first several nights. Of the 12, six had become familiar with the meetings through the brochures that had been hand-delivered by members and mailed to homes near the church. The other six had come at the invitation of an active Adventist who was already in relationship with that person before the meetings began. Six months after the meetings were done, guess which of the six were still at the church? You're right, the ones who through friendship evangelism had come, had stayed during the meetings and were now being integrated effectively into the life of the congregation through their friendships with members. Our 'Re-vangelism' training event January 27-29, 2006 is where we will dialogue about new paradigms for reaching today's generations. What we have done for years isn't working for the majority culture in North America, Western Europe, and the South Pacific. Plan now to attend our 'Re-vangelism' event in Arlington, Texas. I know you won't be disappointed.
