Reconnecting Ministries Training for Mid-America Union
On February 12, the College View Church hosted NAD Reconnecting Ministries training in Lincoln, Nebraska. Even though it was a mid-semester break for the students of Union College, many of them stayed by and joined us for the two worship services that included over 1,500 people. Almost an entire congregation from Kansas came for the day, and others from Iowa, Missouri and the Dakotas filled our meeting room in the afternoon. One woman told of her reconnection to her church when as a single mom the women of the church threw a baby shower for her and "adopted" her son as their own "grandchild." That mother is now attending college to complete her degree and she is finding College View Church just as welcoming. Another person wanted to know where to find the names of inactive members and I mentioned she should review the church books with her pastor and Church Clerk. "Oh," she said, "The clerk is my daughter and she's sitting right here next to me!" We were glad to make that unexpected connection!

More training events are coming up. The Arlington, Texas, congregation hosts the Southwestern Union training event on February 26. On March 5, congregations in the Atlantic Union are invited to send delegates to the AUC College Church.
