Last Sabbath, April 9, congregations in Canada participated in NAD Reconnecting Ministries training held at the Open Door Church in Abbottsford, British Columbia. The weekend started Friday night with musical praise, prayer and an insightful message by Errol Lawrence, religion department chairperson at Canadian University College. Several congregations in BC shut down their services on Sabbath to join us for a combined Sabbath School which I presented and the worship hour presented again by Professor Lawrence. The afternoon sessions were attended by participants from Alberta, BC and Washington State. The BC Conference leader of Regeneration Ministries, support groups for persons with addictions, was with us and made a heartwarming presentation about the synergy of Regeneration and Reconnecting Ministries and the need for more involvement by active members of the church. A vespers of music and prayer brought to completion a memorable day in beautiful British Columbia.
Join us in praying for upcoming training event on April 23. Carmelo Mercado, vice president for Hispanic Ministries in the Lake Union will be our special presenter for the Hispanic Reconnecting Ministries component.
